Astoria in Guatemala: coffee and expectations in an unforgettable event!

Our passion for coffee in all its facets has always led us to travel and discover the journey a small bean makes from the moment it is harvested to the time it is ground and pressed to transform simple hot water into one of the tastiest and most popular drinks in the world.

Evento_Guatemala (1)This time, we traveled to Guatemala City, where we visited the headquarters of Anacafè (Asociación Nacional del Café), an association made up of coffee growers from all over the country, which is involved in the strengthening of the Guatemalan economy through production and export of coffee abroad. The work carried out by the Association involves the roasting of green coffee beans, coffee tasting and the description of its profile, for the purpose of selling it abroad.

Evento_Guatemala (2)During the event held at the Anacafé headquarters, baristas who, according to Perfect Daily Grind, work in the best Guatemalan coffee shops, used the Core600, Rapallo, Greta and Tanya coffee machines to make amazing latte art and top-quality coffee drinks. Among the baristas who participated, were Gerson and Tito Ozoy of Café en Fat Cat Coffee House, Zach of Cafè La Fábrica and Manuel Valentino of Café La Parada.
Astoria has long been working with Anacafé by providing professional coffee machines for the Association’s stand assembled in some of the most important trade fairs, such as Seattle’s Global Specialty Coffee Expo or the next World of Coffee in Budapest.

Evento_Guatemala (4)During the event, Luca Franceschetto, Astoria’s Junior Area Manager for South America, showed to mostly sector professionals how a coffee machine is born, as well as different types of machines and how each of them works.
Special thanks to the team of ICoffee Solutions Guatemala and Anacafé, without whom the incredible success of this event would not have been possible.
